OUR STORY
We started out as three emergency medicine clinicians with a simple idea to improve patient education and communication. On shift conversations and basement brainstorming led to the development of the VidRx app and provider platform that provided video discharge instructions to patients in the emergency department, with excellent feedback from nursing, providers, and patients. Shortly after launching at our first sites the world was struck with the COVID-19 pandemic. During this trying and difficult time the interactions between patients and medical staff became limited to avoid exposure, and as a result communications were breaking down. This led to the development of VidRx ONE, a patient centered in-house telemedicine communication tool designed to replace the outdated and obsolete call light system. Our goal is to maximize patient communication with their caregivers in emergency departments, hospitals, and nursing homes.
